Hi everyone and thanks for all the loyalty throughout the years. I have been getting a lot of positive feed back from the blogs and more inquiries about beauty and especially bridal makeup related. I am so happy that I could be of help and give you the answers to beauty nightmares that you have encountered. The last question that I received in my email was about foundation. The problem that most of us run into is blending the foundation so no one knows it's there and there is no "cake face" look to it. Especially when bridal makeup is concerned blending is a key factor.
Here are the steps: Step one is picking the right type. If your skin is dry try a moisturizing one; powdery might seem ashy. Have skin that is oily go for a oil free on the label. Step two: Get the perfect shade. Test foundation on the jaw line- the skin on your hand is always a different. Do stripes of a few different shades in a row and view in natural light and pick the on that disappears into the skin. Can't try it before you buy? A lot of drug stores let you return after opening it. Step three: Apply it like a pro!! Brush powder on in little circles with a foundation brush.Start with your nose, working out into the edges of your face. For creams and liquids, put on with fingertips. Are you pimple prone? Then I suggest use a brush because finger tips can transfer more oils. Blend with a sponge for a more blended look. One trick that I have realized with years in the beauty industry, that when you use a sponge to apply foundation it wastes the product and soaks up into the applicator. Once your done with your face then blend into your jaw to avoid the telltale line. Finish with a loose or translucent powder for a stay put power.
And don't forget fashionistas that skin care is just as important for the application of your makeup. Smooth on moisturizer first. Applying it about 5 minutes prior to application. This creates a more natural dewy look.
